incorrect duration when converting to .webm format

I try to convert a .mov with a duration of 11 seconds to .webm

The new file indicate 59:44:40.

added Severity::normal Type::bug Version::master git + 1 deleted label

changed milestone to %Bugs paradize

added Component::Stream output: Muxers label and removed 1 deleted label

Can confirm that this is still happening four years on, converting MP4 to WebM on:

• VLC media player 3.0.16 Vetinari (revision 3.0.13-8-g41878ff4)
• Ubuntu 20.04

Can confirm too, still happens when i convert MP4 to WebM but it's fine if i do WebM to MP4. I'm on:

• VLC media player 3.0.18 Vetinari
• Windows 11 22H2
• OS build:22621.1344 (KB5022913)

Not seeing this issue when converting an mp4 to webm with 3.0.21-1-289-gece51a9e63 (the rotation isn't preserved but that's a separate problem).
