iOS: Version 3.1.0 subtitle position fixed to video when filling the screen on iPhone

This happend in version 3.1.0. The subtitles have a fixed position on the video. This means that the subtitles are cut along with the lower part of the video when I fill it (double tap) to my iPhone X screen.

This did not happen in 3.0.3 and I’ve tested the same video files that I had before. The subtitles used to be on the same position/size as if the video was not zoomed in when filling the screen in 3.0.3.

Actually, the double tap is a fit-to-screen and not a fill-to-screen and has been fixed in this 3.1.0 version. But this issue is happening to VLC for iOS and VLC for Android, and should happen to any application using the opengl renderer for example.

There are no distinction between rendering subtitles and rendering other subpictures in the opengl video output so they are subject to the same deformation as the video itself.

To reproduce:

• be in fit-to-screen mode with a screen aspect ratio different from the video aspect ratio (for example vertical phone with 16:9 video)
• start a video with subtitles
