are you sure this is not about the streaming when you drop a file into the browser?

Yes, 100%.

she says "via the Apple tv app" though. I believe mirroring and web browser streaming are separate issues.

can we at least test that that is not broken?

The HDMI problem is also #679 (closed) and I assume the "Apple TV" app she is referencing to be AirPlay. I'll respond and ask for clarification.

I just checked and Apple TV streaming using the app on device (aka VLC's "remote playback" feature) works here.

According to the reporter, the Apple TV app crashes when accessing files from the iPad using the WiFi Sharing feature, so this is a completely different problem. I’ll do a new ticket if I can reproduce.
