Latest VLC 3.0.17 makes MX Master Mouse responsiveness unreliable (playback button) vs 3.0.16 which works fine

I had to go back to 3.0.16 because VLC became unreliably responsive to playback control via Logitech MX Master mouse.
3.0.16 works just fine.
