Audio desynchronization Compensation does not have effect

The audio desynchronization compensation value does not seem to have an effect. Dialing the option through through the hot keys does work but the initial value is not respected until a hot key is pressed.

If i set my desync to 1000 in the advanced option and restart the player i see no desync. If i hit a hot key (G or F) to increment the sync a delay occurs and the sync takes effect. If the value of the desync is set to 1400 or greater, hitting G or F will only result in a full loss of audio for the duration of the playback.
