VLC No Longer Remembers Place When Apply TV Sleeps

I use to be able to pause a video being watched via SMB, and let the Apple TV sleep, awake the device and VLC would continue playing the video from where we paused. Since the latest update, once I hit play VLC brings me to the "Local Network" page, losing my place and forcing me to restart the movie.
