tvOS: Cached media is always deleted when closing VLC

I have an Apple TV 4k 64GB. Until the release a few days ago (~February 19), I could upload a lot of videos to the "Cached media" on the VLC app using the remote playback feature. Not sure how much, but around 10GB I would say.

When I opened VLC a few days ago (with what seemed a new version), all the cached media had disappeared. I then added a couple of videos and could play them. However, after I shut down the Apple TV and relaunched VLC, all the videos had been deleted again. I installed an app (TV info) to check if I was out of storage but the app said ~30GB free (so the warning VLC displays doesn't seem relevant to my case). This deletion also happens when I close the app using the TV remote button twice + swipe up on the VLC app.
