tvOS: After unpausing, the opaque user interface takes a few seconds to hide and covers subtitles at the bottom of the screen

Since the most recent release (~February 19), when unpausing, the user interface that appears hides the subtitles (usually placed at the bottom of the screen). It used to be transparent with just the play bar showing but is now opaque: Since it takes a few seconds to disappear, I have to rewind in order not to miss a subtitle.

(I cannot open the "About VLC for tvOS" menu so I cannot say which version exactly).

Possibly, add a setting to make the user interface not show (or disappear right away if already showing, like after scrolling) when unpausing?
