[Bugs] Needs more accurate cover implementation for audio files
Hello, this app is great but there are two issues. The first is some songs don't show their cover images, but when playing the song it shows it. Like this:
It doesn't show the covers here ^^
But when I play the songs:
It shows the covers ^^
We need more accurate way for displaying covers in the normal menu where all of the audio files are listed.
The second is the mixing of the covers with other song covers. For example:
Here ^ Plastic Hearts shows a cover that it isn't for Plastic Hearts. But when I play the song it shows the correct cover:
We need a better and more accurate way of showing cover images for the mp3/audio files. Please fix this!

For the second one: is the wrong cover shown anywhere else up in the list? For example 10 items above that one?

The wrong cover isn't happening every time, it's weird. It's like getting messed up with other covers sometimes, but not all the time. I even read one time on a Playstore review that it also messes up with your normal pictures in Gallery (however, I didn't face this. With me it just messes up with the other song covers, maybe that happens if you make the app scan all of your internal storage, I only put it to scan several folders that my songs and videos are in.)
I also wanted to make it more clear about the empty covers, here is more detailed:
In the playing queue, look at the ones I've circled:
They don't have a cover, however here I played one of them:
^^ Look at the background!! It's the cover! But it didn't show it up in the list, and now when I play another song, the cover is shown:
It's struggling to show the covers, but then once you play it, it starts showing it. In my opinion, the method that the app is using to scan and show the music covers should be updated.

Same as 3, but worse. The first circle is the correct cover, in the second circle there are two songs with the same cover but they're wrong!!

Hi, I wasn't able to reproduce this issue. What version are you using ?
If it's the 3.3.4, would you mind tring a nightly version or enroll in the beta so that you have a recent version and we can make sure that this issue hasn't been fixed in the few months since the last release ?
If you can still reproduce this, would you mind sharing a zip file with the content of
/sdcard/Android/data/org.videolan.vlc/filesand a dump of the media database (settings->advanced) so that we have some more concrete information on what is happening in the background ?Edited by Duncan McNamaraHello Skantes, I joined the beta yesterday when I saw this message in my emails. I have nothing to reproduce because this JUST happens, it's like it hasn't been even implemented at all. I'm on 3.4.0 Beta 3 and currently I see that you have removed the covers as on the list it's not showing at all nor in the notifications (this one at least used to show). You can see it here:
And this is from the notifications, it shows VLC's logo only:
However, it does show the cover at the bottom of the page where it shows the name of the song and you can pause etc etc. But it doesn't show the covers on the list nor in the notifications.

I'm on version 3.4.4 (Playstore, non-beta), the issue has been fixed.
